SF Bay Area Covid-19 Support
The COVID-19 pandemic that America witnessed during this year is unlike any crisis the country has been through in a century. In the midst of this gray sky event, the communities across the country have needed significant support. Our Empower and Excel volunteers have risen to the occasion and found ingenious ways to help others in whatever way they can and be a beacon of hope.
Here are some of the ways in which the volunteers have reoriented their efforts within the local communities:
Physician Support Group
Physician Support Group (PSG): This initiative is led by a passionate group of physician's (Dr. Anita Kumari, Dr. Nidhi Gupta, & Dr. Meenakshi Jain) solely to meet the needs of PPE for healthcare professionals in collaboration with E&E.
*Personal protective equipment (PPE) is protective clothing, helmets, goggles, or other garments or equipment designed to protect the wearer's body from injury or infection. Personal Protective Equipment includes but is not limited to: eye protection, head cover, face shields, N95 respirators, isolation gowns, surgical masks, isolation masks and gloves.
We can't stop COVID-19 without protecting health workers first. Healthcare workers are desperate for more protection, so we are seeking out supplies wherever we can get them, in this moment of crisis. We need funds to procure PPE and we are turning to our communities we serve, to help our frontline workers, while they heroically take on this challenge to save the lives of our family, friends and neighbors alike.
Thankfully, we all have the power to do something and make a difference. We are empowering individuals, organizations, and communities to step up in the face of the COVID-19 outbreak and help those who need it most. Please donate by clicking donate button.

Baby Food Drive
Baby Formula and Diapers: Low-income families or those helmed by single moms have lost significant income to the pandemic. They are struggling to feed their babies or buy expensive diapers. Empower and Excel volunteers have conducted multiple drives to gather baby formula samples from local pediatricians and diapers from the contributions of individual donors to support vulnerable families.
Our baby formula and diaper drive covered by the ABC7 news channel. We were also on air for this drive with Martha Quinn the original MTV VJ on "The Martha Quinn Radio Show on iHeart 80s at 103.7".
Snack and Hygiene Kits
Snack and Hygiene Kits: For the vulnerable families, many of the basic things we take for granted become a luxury during these crises. Our volunteers have been making snack care packages and personal hygiene packages and reaching out to people in need in a very tangible way.
Household Essentials
Household Essentials: Our volunteers have been busy preparing and donating household essentials kits such as laundry detergent, dish detergent, body soap, body lotion, shampoo, sanitary napkins, dental kits etc..to vulnerable families in the low-income community.
Personal Protective Equipment
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Donations: Frontline health care workers are the unsung heroes of our time. With our generous donors' support, we have donated gloves, N95, KN95 masks and face shields to various healthcare and medical centers, senior living homes, and nursing care facilities. Brookdale Senior Living, Brownell Residential Care, Hayward Hills Healthcare Centers, Redwood Medical Centers are some of the recipients of these PPE.
Fabric Masks
Fabric Masks for the Community: The CDC recommends that people wear a mask while out in public to help prevent the spread of the virus. Many of our volunteers have generously sewn and donated masks for friends who are living on the streets to remain safe and comply with new guidelines.
