We hope all the wonderful Mother’s out there had a fantastic Mother’s Day. Words cannot express how much we value our volunteer mom’s and lead moms for all the support they provide. Thank you for all you do!

Now for a Quick Recap of Our May 2022 Activities

Volunteer of the Month: Srihari Kothapalli
Srihari has been tutoring those who were struggling with reading and writing. Students’ parents are happy about the progress their kids making. They were worried that their child will not make it to the next grade level. But with just a few sessions, the child picked up and made it to the next grade. Srihari played a key role to make this happen. We are proud to see how this young generation is supporting each other.

Beautiful handmade greeting cards for children at hospitals and disabled children at shelters.

Our team has been working so hard to make beautiful blankets for the families in low-income communities. Adult volunteers made the fabric ready with the right measurements for youth volunteers to pick up and complete the blanket. Thanks to all those wonderful moms for taking the time to support this project. Thanks to our lead parent volunteers putting so much effort to prep the material and making videos for kids to follow on how to make the blanket. The team made 19 Minky Fabric Baby blankets, 68 flannel fabric baby blankets, 40 pillows for the homeless, 35 double layer blankets for the homeless, and 16 double layer mats for the homeless.

Volunteers helped to pick up food for the elderly from restaurant.

Volunteers attended Jeena’s annual event at Robert Smithwick Theater to support and help. It was inspiring to see special needs spectacular performances.

Young tutors had fun teaching their little tutees different subjects, chess, and art. Our volunteers ensure that tutoring programs are culturally responsive and tailored to meet the unique needs of student populations.
