“Volunteers don’t get paid, not because they’re worthless, but because they’re priceless.” – Sherry Anderson

We hope all kids enjoyed a wonderful and relaxing summer. We also hope they are more relaxed, recharged, and ready to start a new academic year. Wishing you all the best with the new school year. Please continue to take all safety measures

Congratulations to all our volunteers who received appreciation certificates and PVSA awards for all the hard work they have done during last year.

Welcome to all the 2022-2023 E&E volunteers. Look out for messages in the new WhatsApp groups for activities, reminders, and other details.

Now for a Quick Recap of Our August 2022 Activities

Volunteer of the Month: Ishan Juluri
Ishan started volunteering with E&E at a young age, and now he is in high school. His passion for science made him host 7 weeks of summer STEAM sessions for Gilroy’s low-income community. He pulled his friends who share the same interest and as a team, they hosted the most productive sessions. Participants enjoyed activities thoroughly and now requesting to host these sessions frequently. Good job Ishan and team.

E&E volunteers have been meeting special needs at Emerald Glen Park park in Dublin, and spending quality time by doing fun activities together.

Senator Dave Cortese joined hands with E&E leadership and volunteers to distribute 350+ school bags and supplies, sanitizers, and lunch bags to many little children in San Jose. Senator had a great conversation with a transitioning kindergartner. Volunteers worked hard to set up and distribute.

On Aug 21st in Gilroy, we distributed 350 backpacks with school supplies to families in need. It was heartwarming to see beautiful happy faces.

E&E Leadership and Volunteers set up booths and ran activities at Minority Mental Wellness Fair at Hellyer Park, San Jose.

Volunteers making food bags for San Jose, Sunny Vale, Fremont, and Santa Cruz unhoused populations.

Knitting caps for cancer patients continues by our young volunteers.

Young tutors had fun teaching their little tutees different subjects, chess, and art. Our volunteers ensure that tutoring programs are culturally responsive and tailored to meet the unique needs of student populations.

Volunteers picked up meals at restaurant and delivered them to senior citizens at PriyaLiving, Santa Clara

Thank you volunteers for baking yummy cookies & muffins and sharing them with the community.

While family members are caring for their loved ones hospitalization takes a big enough emotional toll on them. Our volunteers helped by providing delicious homemade meals to give a little comfort.

Volunteers prepared hot breakfasts for the unsheltered in eastbay community.

Our volunteers conducted STEAM activities for children from low-income communities in San Jose and Gilroy cities. It’s great to see kids having fun. We had raffles and fun incentives and Lunch for participants.

Volunteers cooked delicious food for the unhoused populations in South Bay, East Bay, and Santa Cruz areas. And generously distributed them to the unsheltered under hot sun.
